How To Pick Your Wedding Planner

October 10, 2022

1. Start Your Search

Congratulations! You are engaged!

This is one of the most exciting times of your life and now, it’s time to start all the planning for the biggest day you’ve experienced to date. Planning on your own can be a huge undertaking, especially on top of the thousands of other tasks you’re going to need to finalize before the big day. So, in order to get it all done with only a little stress, you’ve opted for the help of a wedding planner (cue Jennifer Lopez movie reel!!). I’m here to share all my tips to help choose a wedding planner that is right for YOU! So you can plan an epic wedding of your dreams.

Here are a few things to consider to narrow down the best option for you.

Starting your search is the first step in finding the perfect wedding planner. You want this day to be as stress free as possible, so making sure that there is someone to support that is the ultimate first task. Search local planners online or through social media and take a look through their latest weddings. From there, you can reach out and set up an initial call!

2. Identity Your Exact Needs

Your Pinterest board doesn't lie (I see your multiple boards!!) so make sure you start there. Go through and identify exactly what your needs and vision are. Write out your “must” list and make sure you’re clear on expectation. This way, you can clearly relay this to your potential wedding planner to make sure you’re all aligned!

Budget is so important! Before hopping on a call to chat with potential planners, lock down that budget! It will be easy to map out the big day alongside your planner when you have a budget in mind

3. Lock Down Your Budget

4. Check Their Portfolio

Once you make initial contact with your potential planners, its time to check their work! Don’t be afraid to ask about past weddings they have been a part of, down to the little details. This is YOUR day and you want to make sure your planner checks all the boxes. Get detailed, be curious. This is your time to get all the answers you need!

5. Decide On Your Planner

Now that you’ve done some investigating and a quick background check (or is that too much?) it’s time to select your planner!! Make sure they meet your requirements, fit your budget and ultimately fit your style.
